Philips TV repair

Philips TVs are known for Ambilight, and we repair them together with it — LED, OLED and MiniLED models running Android TV, Google TV, Saphi or Titan OS. Besides the usual picture and power faults, with Philips we often deal with a sluggish system and Ambilight that has partly or completely stopped working.

Common Philips TV faults

Ambilight dead or showing the wrong colour

If only part of the Ambilight has gone dark or the colours don't match the picture, the fault is usually the LED strip on the back, its cable or its controller. We repair Ambilight on its own — the TV doesn't need another fault for it to be worth fixing.

Dark picture or no picture at all

On Philips LED models (PUS, PFS) the backlight is a common culprit: there's sound, but the screen is black or the picture is only visible under a torch. We replace the full set of LED strips and keep the original screen.

Slow Android, stuck on the logo

Philips Android TVs tend to slow down over the years, apps lag, and sometimes the TV gets stuck on the logo at start-up. We try an update and a factory reset first; if the main board memory is damaged, the board is replaced or reprogrammed.

Won't turn on or shuts off after a few seconds

The red light is on but the TV won't start, or it comes on and immediately goes off. Most often it's the power supply, less often the main board or a protection shutdown caused by faulty backlight strips.

Where to find the Philips model number

The model number is on the label at the back of the TV and in the menu, in the TV information section. Example: 55PUS8807 — 55 is the screen size in inches, PUS means a 4K LED TV (OLED in that position means an OLED model, PML a MiniLED one) and 8807 is the series, where the last digit 7 stands for 2022.

FAQ — Philips service

Can you repair just the Ambilight on a Philips TV?

Yes. If the picture is fine but Ambilight is off, flickering or showing the wrong colours, we repair only that. Send us the model number so we can check part availability for your series.

My Philips TV has become very slow. Is it faulty?

Not necessarily. On older Android models the slowdown is often down to full storage and outdated software, so an update and a reset help a lot. If the TV restarts by itself or gets stuck on the logo, that's a main board fault and it should come in for diagnostics.

How long does a TV repair take?

Most faults are fixed within 1 to 3 working days. When a part has to be ordered from outside Serbia (e.g. a screen, mainboard or LED strips for less common models), the repair can take 5 to 15 days — in that case we offer you a loan TV to use until the repair is finished.

Do you give a warranty on repairs?

Yes, every repair comes with a warranty of at least 12 months, covering both the installed part and the labour.

Do you make home visits?

Yes! A call-out within Belgrade (up to a 10 km radius) costs 2,500 RSD; fault diagnostics are not included in this price. Only minor work can be done on site (resetting the device, software updates, setting it up...).

How much does diagnostics cost?

Diagnostics are free if you go ahead with the repair. If you decide against the repair, diagnostics cost 1,500 RSD, paid in advance when you drop off the device. If you decline the repair, you don't have to collect the device — if you wish, we can send it for free recycling.
